Enthusiastic reflections about names, the universe and everything, with a positive dose of critical thinking
Saline Lee Siu-ling (Ms), General Registry, Hong Kong Science Museum, Hong Kong
Phonetic based?
As in saline drip? Maybe her life was saved before by a drip? But possibly a variation of Seline/Celine/Selina.
Thank you Anon and AW.Possibly phonetic based, and quite possibly a variation. It is hard to tell with Hongkies and the way they, or their parents, choose their novel names. Lol.
I vote for medical related.
I vote ego related. Lol.
I wonder if she notices the irony of being named Saline and working at a science museum.
Thanks Joyce. I think most Hongkongers with novel names know and relish in their irony and quirkiness. It's the ego, arrogance and ignorance, all mixed in. That's my take, anyhoo.
