Hilton Cheong-Leen, president, Hong Kong Civic Association, Hong Kong
Devil. Whale. Chlorophyll, Violante, Treacle — you name it, Hong Kong probably has someone who goes by it. Inquisitive, enterprising and...
OMFG, Paris, err ooops. Maybe he likes to stay in a certain chain of luxury hotels when he travels as part of his job? Only to important work related conferences of course, and only flying first class, as they were the only seats available.
ReplyDeleteParis Hilton, the odd-looking blonde, has probably and unwittingly helped market her family business.
ReplyDeleteExecutive expense accounts. The perks of being 'president' I suppose!
She looks strange, and acts abominably, I doubt that I would ever stay in a Hilton (certainly not a person(!), and unlikely a hotel).
ReplyDeleteThe "Hong Kong Civic Association" sounds like some sort of lobby group for the rich and influential, and its president would have to travel in "appropriate" style - ie first class seats and 5 star hotels.
She appears to be famous for being famous, just as she appears to be silly by being silly.
ReplyDeleteI have concerns about the future of humanity when there are so many people who actually pay attention to her. I can almost feel the collective IQ of the world going down at an increasingly rapid rate.
ReplyDeleteYes Idiocracy the Movie, Lol.
ReplyDeleteScarily, it seems like Paris might have been eclipsed in the vapidity stakes (a difficult task) by the Kardashians. Things don't seem to be getting better unfortunately.
ReplyDeleteWhen I first heard about the Kardashians, I thought it was a TV reality show about some Star Trek aliens.
ReplyDeleteI admit the name Cardassian and Kardashian sounds pretty impressive and dashing, but having seen the characteristics of both "species" I cannot see what all the fuss is about.
A friend who is educated and intelligent said that it was fun to watch how stupid they are. I objected and said that the rewarding of stupidity and vapidity was a dangerous trend and a waste of money and resources.
ReplyDeleteYes, I also have educated friends who take the easy way out and consider it OK to watch how stupid people are. The problem is these stupid people are idolized and, like you said, the danger is their stupidity may be accepted as the norm in society.
ReplyDeleteMuch better to reward the smart, intelligent forward-looking members of our society.
Just had a thought. How about turning the tables, I mean, cameras on the people who come up with or who produce these reality TV shows? These people are obviously successful, so let's put the microscope on them (since they like to make money by putting the microscope on stupid people) and see what they are all about!
Yes, reward the smart sensible people, not the stupid ones. I don't want to watch morons, who are then rewarded handsomely.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the producers are too smart to be put in front of the cameras? Better to make money of stupid people?
I predict a new breed of producers who will put the current breed of successful reality TV producers in front of the cameras.
ReplyDeleteYou could make millions with that idea, hurry and pitch it to a suitably dodgy TV network and rake in the $.
