  2. Yes please! First we had Loh Lai-ting (0841), and now Lighting Chan.

Yesterday I received a courtesy email from the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (the person's wonderful novel and job-based name I shall reveal in due course).

Thank you for contributing to his site! My email: hksarblog at gmail.com

Is he (presumably he anyway) a friendly ghost? And what useful function does a political secretary have anyway?

  4. Helping to pull disappearing acts and to generate mysterious goings-on!!! It seems Caspar is an appropriate name, although he probably isn't very friendly.

Yeah, his title sounds something like a political spin doctor or 'fixer'. Ie, not useful at all to the public, just good at covering his bosses ass.

  6. Caspar is so good at his job that not many people, including me (I had to look it up), knows who the secretary for Home Affairs is.

The minister in charge of covering up the goings on between the rich and powerful and their mistresses, hookers, "maids, "private secretaries" and "masseurs"?

Or perhaps he the one in charge of covering up for those who cheat on their wives in their own homes? He's possibly the most important member of cabinet then.

  8. Surprisingly, Hong Kong doesn’t get too many sex scandals amongst the politicians. Not sure why … although the alleged low rates of having sex in Hong Kong may be a factor!

Well, no sex = no sex scandals. Or are they too boring/old/ugly to potential women they might have affairs with?

Though I think Hongkies would much rather be scandalised by their celebutards who are being human, doing things like eat at restaurants, go shopping, or have sex. Who woulda thunk?
